There is no standard proxy support for using IRC. To use IRC, you will have to configure Socks and configure DNS in WinProxy. The Socks proxy is supported in almost all IRC clients. If your IRC client does not support Socks, then you should look for another IRC client. The following configurations assume WinProxy is configured with the internal IP address of 90.0.0.1 and the SOCKS protocol is set up to use Port 1080.

YOU MUST SET UP DNS IN YOUR LOCAL SYSTEM IN ORDER TO USE SOCKS. The client's DNS server is the IP address of the WinProxy machine.

1. Click on Setup -> Connection.
2. Uncheck any checked boxes, then click OK.

1. Click on the ICQ button -> Preferences -> Connection.
2. Under 'Internet Connection Type', select "I'm using a permanent internet connection (LAN)" and "I am not behind a firewall or proxy".
3. Click on OK.
